TurboTan ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. This version updates how we describe optional photo and face-related processing so it matches the app’s behavior.
TurboTan is built so routine use stays on your device. Some optional features may send image data over the network only when you use them and only when those features are enabled in your build (see Face and photo data below).
What counts as face data: Still images of your face that you take with the in-app camera or choose from your library (for example, an onboarding selfie or progress check-in photo). The app uses these images only to produce cosmetic-style labels and previews inside TurboTan (for example, suggested “tan style” text and filter-like tan previews). TurboTan does not perform biometric identification or authentication and does not build a faceprint to recognize you.
On-device use: Tan effect previews, most editing, and storing progress photos you save happen on your device.
Optional third-party processing: If the optional “photo match” / analysis feature is enabled for your build, a copy of the selfie image may be sent over HTTPS to a server we operate (or our subprocessors) solely to run that cosmetic analysis and return short text results to the app. We do not sell face data. We do not use it for advertising.
Sharing: Face/selfie images are not sold. If the optional analysis feature is on, the image may be transmitted to our configured API endpoint and the inference provider that powers that endpoint (for example, a cloud model provider) strictly to perform that request. Subscription status may be processed by RevenueCat as described below.
Storage and retention: Images you keep in the app (such as progress photos) stay in app storage on your device until you delete them or delete the app. If a selfie is sent for optional analysis, our servers may retain it only as long as needed to complete the request and short operational logging unless a longer period is required by law—typically on the order of minutes to days, not for profiling. You can skip optional analysis and still use core features that do not require uploading a selfie.

We only access your photo library or camera when you explicitly pick or capture a photo (for example, opening the library to choose an image for the editor). Saving an edited image uses write access only when you confirm save.
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
TurboTan does not include any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
TurboTan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
